Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced AI Platform Engineer to transform complex business workflows with enterprise-grade AI. You will design scalable backend services in Python/Node.js, build cloud-native, event-driven solutions on GCP, and migrate legacy processes into native environments.

You will implement secure access controls and governance across enterprise systems and lead the development of reusable patterns and templates for internal teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering or enterprise workflow automation experience.
• Experience leading or contributing to GCP-based transformations and secure AI-enabled solutions.
• Proven ability to design and deliver AI agents or bot-driven workflows with HITL.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end transformation of business workflows using AI across GM platforms.
• Write clean, scalable backend services in Python/Node.js and architect integrations.
• Build and operate cloud-native, event-driven services on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub).
• Code data pipelines migrating legacy workflows into native GCP environments.
• Develop secure integration patterns using IAM, OAuth2 and service accounts.
• Create automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release environments.
• Design, test, and optimize production prompts and agent instructions with guardrails.
• Implement telemetry, logging, and evaluation for production AI agents.
