Appian is seeking a Principal ML Platform Engineer to lead the engineering of AI-powered automation for enterprise-scale platforms. The role focuses on cloud-native architecture, high-complexity solutions, and setting technical direction across teams.

You will mentor engineers, drive AI-enabled code quality, and push for reliability and performance in a highly collaborative environment. The position is remote within the United States with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field required.
• 10+ years of software development experience (BS) or 8+ years with MS.
• Expert in one or more Java, Python, or Go.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to influence engineering practices beyond a single team.
• Experience using AI coding assistants in production.
• Proven track record delivering high-volume production services.
• Excellent communication of complex architectures.
