Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our AI Platform Team in Des Moines (Partial Remote). You will build secure, scalable enterprise AI capabilities, focusing on production-ready backend and platform components, with governance around privacy, security, and observability.

You will develop reusable AI patterns, RAG-based search, chat assistants, and agent services, while delivering APIs and services that integrate into business workflows.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of software engineering experience with hands-on development.
• Experience with AWS including API Gateway, Lambda, Bedrock, S3, EventBridge, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, CloudWatch, CDK, and Fargate.
• Bedrock experience is required.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CDK.
• At least 1 year building Generative AI solutions, especially in RAG/search-based or chatbot contexts.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and its impact on output quality.
• Knowledge of embeddings, semantic retrieval, vector search.
• Experience shipping enterprise APIs/services that integrate AI into business workflows.
• CI/CD, testing, debugging fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Operate across the full solution lifecycle, including infrastructure as code, APIs/services, cloud deployment, data storage, and production‑ready delivery.
• Build reusable AI platform components and domain‑aligned AI solutions with guardrails for privacy, security, compliance, observability, and engineering standards.
• Develop backend services, platform capabilities, and cloud‑native delivery solutions.
• Support initiatives such as building search agents, navigator agents, and domain‑specific chatbots (benefits, claims, membership).
• Create reusable base prompt templates and related AI platform assets for downstream teams.
