Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a software engineer to design and operate a multi-agent AI platform that improves member experiences and healthcare outcomes. You will own orchestration, integration contracts, and safety layers across Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, and related services.

The role emphasizes production-grade systems, state management, and collaboration with healthcare stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant responses and scalable tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4–7 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with agentic AI in production—not just demos or tutorials.
• Proven production experience with LangGraph, AutoGen, or graph-based orchestration.
• Debugging retrieval quality and chunking for live knowledge bases.
• Strong Python in production, healthcare/insurance domain experience a plus.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Container Apps.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the LangGraph-based multi-agent orchestration layer.
• Define and enforce agent integration contracts: input/output schemas, signals, latency SLAs.
• Manage multi-turn contexts and handoffs across agents in live conversations.
• Implement guardrails for clinical safety, PHI handling, and compliant responses.
• Define RAG ingestion and retrieval quality standards using Azure Search.
• Develop versioned prompts and structured output contracts for all agents.
