Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a software engineer to lead a LangGraph-based multi-agent AI platform for member interactions and clinical routing. You will shape orchestration, context management across turns, and safety guardrails within Azure OpenAI and Azure Search.

Remote-friendly with weekly in-office presence in Omaha; travel to HQ possible for approved states. Agile environment with a focus on accurate, compliant AI-driven experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 4–7 years in software engineering.
• Experience with agentic AI in production, multi-agent systems with state management.
• 2–3 years building and operating production LLM or agentic AI systems.
• Ability to describe decisions in multi-agent systems: state, failures, governance.
• LangGraph, AutoGen, or graph-based orchestration used in production.
• Healthcare/insurance/fintech domain experience with safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the LangGraph-based multi-agent orchestration layer.
• Develop an agent integration contract and pluggable patterns for new agents.
• Implement context management across turns and user sessions.
• Ensure safety, PHI handling, and compliant responses across agents.
• Oversee RAG pipeline integration and retrieval quality standards.
• Contribute to prompt architecture and version registry.
