Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead AI Platform Engineer to shape and operate enterprise AI platforms. You will lead architecture, engineering, automation, and governance across public and private clouds, enabling teams to safely build, deploy, observe, and scale AI-powered solutions.

The role blends platform engineering with MLOps, security, and governance to drive reliable, scalable AI capabilities enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms in large enterprise environments.
• Experience delivering solutions across public and private cloud environments.
• Experience deploying and managing containerized workloads with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Advanced software engineering and automation using Python.
• Experience leading multi-team technical design and delivery of complex initiatives.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience designing or supporting production AI, ML platforms or distributed systems.
• Strong telemetry, monitoring, logging, and observability capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and operation of enterprise AI platforms.
• Translate requirements into scalable platform solutions and approaches.
• Design and maintain AI/ML systems with security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Oversee delivery across public/private clouds; identify dependencies and influence decisions.
• Build services/workflows for onboarding, development, deployment, and lifecycle management of AI solutions.
• Develop tooling and services for model training, evaluation, deployment, inference, monitoring, and governance.
• Lead MLOps capabilities and AI development workflows.
• Build data ingestion and feature engineering pipelines for training and inference.
• Design observability capabilities: telemetry, monitoring, logging, alerting, analytics, drift detection.
• Ensure stability and scalability of AI platforms; drive reliability and security improvements.
• Lead root-cause analysis and incident response for complex platform issues.
