Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to stand up and operate a bare-metal container platform and drive Terraform/Ansible provisioning. You will support OCONUS bootstrap activities and ensure secure, scalable AI model deployment.

The role allows occasional telework; candidates must be within 50 miles of multiple U.S. locations and hold a DoD clearance. Extensive Linux, Kubernetes, and OpenShift experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA; 7 years with Ph.D.
• Experience with platform/systems/integration engineering.
• Hands-on Kubernetes-based container platform experience.
• US Citizenship and Active DoD Secret clearance.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification.
• Experience deploying and operating AI models with performance tuning.
• Hands-on OpenShift on bare metal.
• IaC proficiency with Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and operate LLMs and AI models in enterprise environments.
• Optimize inference, deployment, and GPU/memory utilization for performance.
• Monitor and maintain model-serving and platform health and security.
• Move provisioning toward IaC and automate with Terraform/Ansible.
• Document platform architecture, decisions, and procedures.
