Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior AI Platform Engineer to stand up a bare-metal container platform and drive IaC provisioning using Terraform and Ansible. You will operate OpenShift or similar Kubernetes on bare metal, document architecture, and support OCONUS bootstrap activities.

This role allows occasional telework but requires proximity to listed work locations; US citizenship and DoD clearance are required, with strong Linux and security skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
• Experience with platform/systems/integration engineering.
• Hands-on Kubernetes-based container platform experience.
• US Citizenship and Active DoD Secret clearance.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification.
• Experience deploying and operating AI models.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and operate large language models (LLMs) in enterprise environments.
• Design infrastructure-as-code provisioning using Terraform and Ansible.
• Operate bare-metal container platforms and OpenShift clusters.
• Reduce manual installs by migrating to IaC-based provisioning.
• Document platform architecture and operational procedures.
• Support OCONUS hardware bootstrap activities and security compliance.
