Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior AI Platform Engineer to stand up and operate a bare-metal container platform, driving Terraform and Ansible IaC provisioning and supporting OpenShift deployments.

This role requires US citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance, with extensive Kubernetes and OpenShift on bare metal experience and a focus on secure, scalable platform operations across CONUS/OCONUS environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years with BS/BA; 10 years with MS; 7 years with Ph.D.
• Experience with platform/systems/integration engineering.
• Hands-on Kubernetes-based container platform experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification.
• Practical experience deploying and operating AI models.
• Hands-on OpenShift on bare metal.
• IaC proficiency with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with Spectro Cloud/VMware or equivalent.
• Knowledge of container platform networking, storage, security, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to document architecture, licensing tradeoffs, and operational considerations.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and operate a bare-metal container platform.
• Deploy and operate AI models and enterprise AI services.
• Migrate provisioning to IaC with Terraform and Ansible.
• Manage OpenShift or enterprise Kubernetes on bare metal.
• Enforce STIGs and cybersecurity controls.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity.
• Support OCONUS hardware bootstrap activities.
• Document platform architecture and procedures.
