Thomson Reuters is seeking a Principal Engineer in the United States to lead high-performance tax and accounting software initiatives. The role demands technical leadership, design governance, and strategic guidance across multiple domains, including AI-enabled features and scalable REST APIs.

You will mentor engineers, define standards, and drive cloud-native modernization while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with scalable, web-based products.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
• Proven REST API design experience using ASP.NET or similar frameworks.
• Experience with React/Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
• Cloud experience with AWS and modern UI frameworks; API gateways a plus.
• Ability to mentor engineers, promote DevOps practices, and embrace TDD.
