Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer 5 for the Gen AI Platform Services: Agentic Systems in McLean, VA. You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products that impact associates and customers.

You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components, including foundation model training, inference, agents, and multi-agent workflows, leveraging PyTorch, HuggingFace, and vector databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of AI/ML experience.
• At least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products and services.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components and workflows.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies across platforms and models.
• Lead governance reviews and optimize cost-performance of AI systems.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to long-term AI system roadmaps.
• Integrate LLMs, vector search, and domain models into unified pipelines.
