Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Sr Data Engineer to join its AI Platform team, focusing on AI Operations (AIOps, MLOps, FMOps, LLMOps) and GenAI services. You will help build scalable data engineering and AI platforms, working across Actuarial, Product, Underwriting, and Sales groups.

Qualifications

BS degree in CS/related field.
8+ years building and shipping software/platforms for enterprises.
Proficiency in Python preferred.
3+ years Terraform experience.
Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, AI Platform, API Gateway, GKE/Docker).
Experience with multiple clouds (AWS a plus).
Experience with CI/CD, automated testing/deployments, Agile, unit & integration testing.
Experience building scalable serverless applications and ETL/data engineering.

Responsibilities

Develop value-added features tailored to enterprise work beyond core cloud platform capabilities.
Research and implement GenAI algorithms, tools, and technologies.
Explore AWS, GCP, Azure to support GenAI/ML services.
Enhance platform with AI/ML and data engineering expertise.
Promote best practices in AI/ML and data engineering across teams.
Architect end-to-end component-level solutions.
Collaborate with Enterprise Data, Data Science, Business, Cloud Enablement, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
Manage engineering tasks and optimize workflows with minimal guidance.
Provide technical mentorship and career growth opportunities.
