Job summary

Kai is building an AI-powered cybersecurity platform that helps enterprises manage vulnerabilities at scale. You will lead software engineering on the AI team, owning code quality, tests, CI/CD, and production reliability for services that consume LLM APIs and run on Azure.

You will work with applied AI scientists and an AI infra engineer to transform code into reliable, well-tested production services, shaping the future of agentic security at machine speed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend-focused software engineering.
• MS in CS/AI/ML; PhD preferred.
• Deep Python production code, async patterns, and testing.
• Experience with pytest, mocking, fixtures, and testing external APIs.
• FastAPI or similar REST API framework experience.
• Azure or equivalent cloud platform experience; CI/CD in cloud environments.
• CI/CD pipeline engineering with gates and automated checks.
• Docker containers and multi-stage builds.

Responsibilities

• Build the test suite from the ground up, with unit and integration tests.
• Harden production services with security audits, health checks, and observability.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and implement quality gates.
• Refactor for maintainability and reduce code duplication.
• Manage dependencies and reproducible builds with lock files.
• Own reliability and performance of Python/FastAPI microservices.
• Design caching, rate limiting, and circuit breakers for external calls.
• Collaborate with AI scientists on prompts and parsing.
• Mentor mid-level engineers as the team grows.
