We are seeking a Principal Applied AI Scientist to lead the design and deployment of cutting-edge Generative AI and LLM-powered systems for real-world, high-impact applications.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Applied AI / ML / GenAI experience.
• MS in Computer Science, AI, ML or related field; PhD preferred.
• Experience deploying production-grade AI systems at scale.
• Proven leadership of large cross-functional teams.
• Ability to translate business problems into AI solutions.
• Deep expertise in LLMs, RAG and agentic AI systems.
• Ownership mindset in fast-moving startup environments.
• Experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development of large-scale AI/ML systems.
• Architect and deploy LLM-powered applications and RAG pipelines.
• Drive technical vision and roadmap for applied AI across Kai.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of scientists and engineers.
• Design scalable retrieval and embedding systems for smart apps.
• Develop agentic AI systems with tool use, memory, and reasoning.
• Own model lifecycle from data curation to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and executives to solve business problems.
