Job summary

NVIDIA's NeMo Helix team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and ship an open, plugin-based platform for running, evaluating, deploying, and operating AI agents at scale across local, Kubernetes, Slurm, and air-gapped environments.

You will provide senior technical leadership, own core platform APIs for jobs, data, secrets, and RBAC, and extend the agentic plugin architecture while contributing to OSS with high-quality code.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
• Exceptional communication, both verbal and written, including ability to discuss architectural RFCs clearly.
• Strong system design skills with reliability, scalability, security, and performance tradeoffs.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud-native services, containers, Kubernetes, and job orchestration.
• Excellent Python engineering skills, including API design, typing, testing, debugging, performance analysis, and maintainable software design.
• Experience designing SDKs, libraries, plugins, CLIs, or other developer-facing interfaces.
• Ability to work independently, define technical scope, break down ambiguous problems, and drive work across team boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Design an Agentic Execution system adaptable to local, Kubernetes, Slurm, and air-gapped environments.
• Provide senior technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring.
• Build Core Platform APIs for running jobs, storing data, entities, secrets, and RBAC.
• Extend the Plugin Architecture to enable external teams to install new capabilities.
• Build in the open in our OSS repo, maintaining high open-source standards.
• Shipping code rapidly with an efficient toolchain for agentic AI workflows.
• Improve reliability, observability, debuggability, and performance across NeMo Helix and workflows.
• Build strong test coverage across unit, integration, E2E, Docker, and Kubernetes workflows.
