Zusammenfassung

FirstWork is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own a significant part of the platform and ship AI capabilities that run on top of it. You will lead projects end to end, from design through rollout, collaborating with product managers, designers, and the engineers building our AI infrastructure.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience and end-to-end system ownership.
• Strong SQL and relational data modeling; design schema before coding.
• Solid distributed systems basics: queues, async workers, idempotency, retries.
• Proven track record of leading a project across multiple engineers.
• Care for multi-tenant correctness; keep queries scoped per customer.
• Clear written communication: design docs, PRs, incident writeups.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and define problems with solutions.

Aufgaben

• Own a subsystem end-to-end: document processing, workflow automation, or integrations.
• Ship AI agent capability into production: extraction, validation, and routing.
• Build AI browsing agents for government and third-party portals.
• Own accuracy and cost across prompts, outputs, evaluation, model selection, spend.
• Design and evolve REST APIs and webhooks for ATS, HR, payroll integrations.
• Write durable async workflows in Temporal for automations and bulk actions.
• Mentor peers and raise engineering bar through reviews.
• Collaborate with product and operations to turn customer processes into product.
