• 8+ years hands-on software engineering with cloud-native/DevSecOps.
• Shipping AI/ML systems end-to-end to real users.
• Founding/first AI engineer capable of independent delivery.
• Build-vs-buy judgments for modernizing a 15-year Microsoft stack.
• Humility, commercial acumen, and coachability.
• US-based and eligible for government-adjacent/public-sector work.

Responsibilities

• Design and build foundational AI capabilities (RAG, code generation, LLM orchestration, multi-agent workflows) to analyze legacy code.
• Refactor legacy components into scalable cloud-native services; avoid wholesale rewrites.
• Safely deploy features with flags, shadow mode, and monitoring under compliance (HIPAA, CJIS).
• Partner with Banyan's AI initiatives to accelerate product value.
• Scale and upskill the engineering team after establishing the AI factory.
