Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer to lead foundation model initiatives and scalable AI platforms. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered experiences for customers and associates, while shaping the technical vision and governance across Capital One.

You will mentor senior teams, optimize training and inference workloads, and drive multi-year platform initiatives with a focus on safety, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years coding AI/ML systems with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java.
• Experience building and deploying AI platforms with cost, latency and scalability considerations.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineers, researchers, PMs and analysts to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, train, deploy and monitor foundation models and agents at scale.
• Shape architectural vision and long-term AI platform roadmaps.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence stakeholders up to SVP level.
