Job summary

Boundless Immigration, a Seattle-based Series C legal tech company, is building a world-class AI-powered platform for immigration workflows. We are hiring a Principal Architect to own end-to-end platform architecture, AI layer design, and data infrastructure, with autonomy to shape the technical vision from day one.

This remote-first role requires balancing speed and rigor, partnering with engineers, and mentoring teams while ensuring accuracy and auditability in a regulated domain.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in engineering with principal-level ownership.
• Experience shipping AI into production and designing large systems.
• Ability to write durable architectural decisions and records.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture end to end: service boundaries, API design, multi-tenancy, data modeling.
• Design the AI layer: retrieval, evaluation, and tool integration for case data.
• Build and own foundational agent infrastructure for product teams.
• Define data movement and state management across systems (transactions to warehouse).
• Mentor engineers and lead architectural decisions; ship code and lead from the front.
