Job summary

Boundless Immigration is hiring a Principal Architect to reinvent how legal work gets done in the age of AI. We are rebuilding our software platform and engineering infrastructure from the ground up, and seek a leader who can set the technical vision that ties it all together.

You will own the platform end to end, design the AI and data layers, and mentor engineers to ship a durable, world-class AI platform supporting immigration workflows at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in engineering with architectural decisions on production systems.
• Ability to hold platform, AI layer, data infra and business constraints in view.
• Experience shipping AI into production with strong opinions on retrieval, latency and eval methods.
• Excellent documentation skills to communicate architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture end to end: services, APIs, multi-tenancy, data modeling.
• Design the AI layer and how tools connect to case data and quality evaluation.
• Build and own foundational agent infrastructure for deployment, monitoring, and management.
• Define how context is structured, persisted, and shared across agents and domains.
• Build agents handling legal tasks, communications, data hygiene, and workflow from intake to submission.
• Define data movement from transactional systems to warehouse and tooling used daily by teams.
• Transition engineering into a software factory, updating processes, tools, and culture.
• Be senior technical voice in design reviews and write architecture decision records.
• Mentor engineers by doing the work and giving feedback on designs.
• Ship code and lead from the front.
