Job summary

EY seeks a senior leader to architect and deliver a next-generation AI platform within Challenger Core. You will define the platform vision, govern reference architecture, and drive a durable, scalable foundation across cloud and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Substantial experience designing and operating cloud, infrastructure, SRE, or platform capabilities, including responsibility for production AI workloads.
• A record of building a shared platform adopted by multiple product teams, with measurable improvement in speed, reliability, or cost.
• Deep experience in at least one major cloud and strong judgment about portable patterns for hybrid or multi-cloud constraints.
• Hands-on depth in orchestration, networking, identity, IaC, delivery automation, APIs, and production observability.
• Experience operating model-serving and AI lifecycle capabilities, including release controls, evaluation, capacity, service objectives, and incident learning.
• Ability to make build-versus-buy decisions and explain operational, commercial, and technical consequences.
• Experience leading complex programs, influencing senior stakeholders, and mentoring engineers.
• Up to 50% travel and hybrid on-site office requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set the AI platform vision, reference architecture, roadmap, and non-functional standards across cloud, hybrid, and edge environments.
• Run the platform as a product; define service tiers, golden paths, roadmap priorities, and adoption metrics.
• Enable portable model access with gateways and stable contracts supporting model choice and policy-aware routing.
• Architect elastic foundations for compute, storage, and network for AI workloads balancing performance and cost.
• Automate delivery with repeatable patterns, progressive release, rollback, and evidence integration.
• Define trusted agent runtimes for secure execution of tools, identities, approvals, isolation, and replay.
• Engineer for reliability with service objectives, observability standards, and recovery patterns.
• Make economics visible by linking usage and quality signals to improve unit economics.
• Guide build-versus-buy and portability decisions with engineering, product, security, risk, procurement, and finance partners.
• Mentor platform engineers and SREs to turn emerging tech into reusable production patterns.
