Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Principal Software Engineer to own the technical direction for the AWS Quick platform and related integrations. You will shape architecture across the AI platform and the internal Artifact Hub, guiding connectors, agents, data pipelines, and quality systems.

You will lead architectural decisions, collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and AWS teams, and contribute technically while supervising engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 10+ years in software development life cycle, architecture, and platform delivery.
• Experience designing cloud-native platforms on AWS with compute, storage, networking, IAM, observability, and automation.
• Experience with AI/ML-powered systems, including RAG, retrieval, or agent-based architectures.
• Strong Python skills; ability to design, review, and contribute to Python-based connectors and tooling.
• Proven track record in enterprise integration across SaaS, data platforms, and operational systems; API design and security.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture for the AWS Quick customization layer, connectors, agent orchestration, and knowledge ingestion.
• Define the MCP strategy for enterprise integrations: contracts, governance, authentication, and safety boundaries.
• Own the AI Artifact Hub platform direction, assess state, and implement hardening and reliability improvements.
• Make and document major architecture decisions with trade-offs for near-term delivery and future growth.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Cloud Automation, and AWS teams to align on platform direction.
• Lead architecture and design reviews; pair with engineers to raise engineering judgment.
• Guide the team’s Python implementation through design, review, debugging, and production contributions.
• Serve as senior technical contact for AWS on platform capabilities and roadmap needs.
• Explain technical direction and trade-offs to engineering, product, security, and leadership.
• Represent the platform team in cross-organization forums and drive alignment across teams.
