Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own the technical direction for the AWS Quick platform and related artifact hub. This hands-on leadership role drives architecture, reviews designs, and mentors engineers across two products, with hybrid work and 5% travel.

You will shape integration patterns, ensure reliability, and collaborate with AWS teams to align platform direction while delivering scalable AI-enabled capabilities for Cox’s enterprise tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 10+ years in software engineering.
• Strong Python experience and cloud-native architectures on AWS.
• Experience shaping platform direction, architecture reviews, and mentor/lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture for the AWS Quick customization layer and MCP strategy.
• Define and document major architecture decisions and trade-offs.
• Lead engineers through design, code reviews, and production contributions.
• Collaborate with AWS teams to align platform direction and roadmap.
