Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own the technical direction for the AWS Quick platform and related artifacts. You’ll shape architecture, lead engineers, and stay close enough to code to review designs and contribute where needed.

You’ll guide the integration layer, MCP strategy, and reliability practices across two products, with executive sponsorship and direct access to AWS teams. Location: Carmel, IN; on-site three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; 10+ years in software development, architecture and platform delivery.
• Experience building cloud-native platforms on AWS; familiarity with IAM, observability, and infra automation.
• Proven track record leading architecture reviews, driving design decisions, and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture for the AWS Quick customization layer, including connectors and agent orchestration.
• Define MCP strategy for enterprise integrations: contracts, governance, authentication, and safety boundaries.
• Lead architectural decisions for the AI Artifact Hub and outline hardening plans as adoption grows.
• Set standards for MCP servers, tool interfaces, and structured APIs for agent use.
• Lead incident response and drive follow-up engineering to improve platform reliability.
