Job summary

Fruition Group US, a robotics-focused firm, seeks a Senior/Staff AI Perception Engineer (Team Lead) in the San Francisco Bay Area to advance a production 3D perception stack for industrial robots. You will own the perception roadmap, guide the team, and stay hands-on in code (roughly 60/40).

Bring strong Python/C++, ROS/ROS2, and 3D geometry expertise to deploy reliable perception under latency constraints.

Qualifications

MS or PhD in Robotics, CV, CS, or related field.
5+ years deploying robotic perception systems in production.
Strong Python and C++ for real-time perception pipelines.
Experience with ROS/ROS2 and sensor data processing.
Knowledge of 3D geometry and pose estimation.

Responsibilities

Advance perception capabilities end to end—from problem definition to production improvement.
Develop and improve 3D perception algorithms for localization, pose estimation, scene reconstruction.
Diagnose production failures due to scenes, lighting, sensor noise, and data gaps between training and real environments.
Strengthen production readiness through better data, evaluation, regression testing, and field-failure analysis.
Collaborate across robotics teams to integrate perception into planning, manipulation, controls, and system software.
Lead and grow the Perception Team—own the roadmap, run design reviews, hire, and mentor as the team scales.
