Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is partnering with a growing consumer-facing organization to build an internal enterprise AI orchestration platform focused on intelligent support and knowledge retrieval. This is not a language-specific role; the senior engineer will stay hands-on, think in system terms, and use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery of production-ready software.

You will work on secure API-first integrations, agentic workflows, testing, observability, and platform architecture decisions

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Background in application, platform, or full stack engineering.
• Experience building production-grade enterprise applications, integrations, or internal platforms.
• Strong API and systems integration experience.
• Familiarity with API gateway platforms such as Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway or similar.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows in real-world delivery.
• Strong systems thinking and product mindset.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and secure engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-enabled internal applications and workflow experiences across desktop and mobile contexts.
• Develop secure API-first integrations across enterprise systems, SaaS platforms, and internal services.
• Design and implement agentic workflows capable of retrieving knowledge, calling tools, and automating operational tasks.
• Work closely with architecture, product, and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous operational challenges into working software.
• Use AI-assisted development tooling to accelerate engineering delivery.
• Review, validate, and harden AI-generated code for production use.
• Contribute to scalable engineering patterns, integration standards, and platform architecture decisions.
• Build with strong attention to testing, observability, maintainability, and security.
