Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior AI/ML Software Engineer to join our Cyber Solutions team in Jessup, MD. You will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions in a full-stack environment, with Linux and basic networking, and integrate LLM capabilities for the customer.

The role requires DoD8570 IAT2 compliance and an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. This is a full-time position at a customer location with a competitive salary and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline plus fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience; four (4) years may substitute for a degree.
• Must be compliant with DoD8570 IAT2.
• Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop software applications using Gradle Java, Python.
• Gather and evaluate end-user and customer requirements.
• Write, test, debug and deploy code.
• Perform code reviews to maintain quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to project planning.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, SMEs, and leadership contributing to strategic initiatives.
• Design user interface to be widely accessible across the customer community.
• Explore LLM and AI integration opportunities.
• Design interfaces/bridge to external requirements management tools.
• Mentor junior software engineers.
