Google Cloud seeks an Senior Staff Software Engineer for AI/ML Security to drive architectural strategy for model armor and data protection. You will guide scalable systems for defending against prompt injection, jailbreaking, and data leakage across enterprise environments.

You will partner with executives to evaluate ML security research, mentor engineers, and navigate ambitious cross-Google initiatives to secure LLMs at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 7+ years leading technical project strategy, ML design, and ML infrastructure.
• 5+ years in design and architecture; testing/launching software products.
• 5+ years in Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term technical goal and architectural strategy for model armor and sensitive data protection.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, low-latency systems to detect and mitigate threats like prompt injection and data leakage.
• Align security roadmaps across Google Cloud, DeepMind, and other product areas.
• Resolve technical disagreements among engineers and researchers, forging consensus for cross-functional objectives.
• Mentor staff and executive engineers on ML security research, elevating domain expertise.
