Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for AI/ML Security to lead the strategy for Model Armor and Sensitive Data Protection within Google Cloud. You will drive architecture across distributed systems, integrating defenses for prompt injection, jailbreaking, and data leakage.

You will partner with executives to align roadmaps and mentor teams globally. The role requires deep security research experience, leadership across time zones, and a track record in enterprise-grade security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy and ML design.
• 5 years of experience with one or more ML subfields and with design/architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term technical goal and architectural strategy for model armor and data protection.
• Lead scalable, low-latency systems to detect threats like prompt injection and data leakage.
• Align security roadmaps across Google Cloud and other product areas.
• Resolve technical disagreements and forge consensus across teams and time zones.
• Mentor staff and executives on ML security research and implementations.
