Job summary

Vizient, Inc. seeks an experienced backend engineer to design and build scalable backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform capabilities powering AI/ML products and applications.

You will partner with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to productionize LLM applications, RAG pipelines, and agentic AI workflows. You will leverage modern cloud technologies and IaC practices to deliver reliable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
• Strong Python development experience with production backend services and APIs.
• Hands-on IaC with Pulumi, Terraform; cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment practices.
• Knowledge of observability and production support practices.
• Familiarity with ML/AI systems, LLM apps, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and platform components.
• Build scalable cloud infrastructure using Pulumi and IaC practices; CI/CD pipelines.
• Support production deployment of ML models, LLM apps, and RAG pipelines.
• Enhance observability with monitoring, logging, tracing, and incident management.
• Define engineering standards for testing, security, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices across the AI/ML team.
