Job summary

Vida is seeking a senior software engineer to help rebuild and scale our data platform for AI/ML and ensure secure, HIPAA-aligned data handling. You will contribute to data ingestion, transformation, and serving layers across backend, infra and data components.

You will deploy model serving, feature pipelines and governance, work with Security and IT, and help advance the AI/ML capabilities at scale in a remote US setting. The role offers a competitive salary and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree minimum.
• 7–10+ years building production-grade ML/AI systems.
• Generalist software engineer across backend, infra and data.
• Hands-on experience with deploying AI/ML, including MLOps and model serving.
• Strong cloud experience (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure also welcome).
• DevOps skills: CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), containers and Kubernetes.
• Solid data warehousing and SQL skills; dbt experience.
• Familiarity with HIPAA/HITRUST is a plus.
• Experience with LLM applications, retrieval, guardrails and knowledge graphs.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and shipping focus across stack.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the platform build: data ingestion, transformation and serving layers.
• Strengthen DevOps and reliability: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability.
• Partner with Security and IT: data classification, access control, secret management.
• Lay groundwork for AI/ML platform: model serving, feature pipelines, training data pipelines.
• Ensure PHI stays within secured boundaries in VPC/local inference.
• Collaborate with team leads to raise AI/ML fluency and establish patterns.
• Handle additional responsibilities as needed.
