Job summary

Vida Health, Inc. is expanding its data science and platform teams to build a secure, scalable AI/ML infrastructure in the cloud. The role focuses on data ingestion, model serving, feature pipelines, and governance to enable advanced obesity-care applications.

You will partner with security, IT, and platform teams to ensure HIPAA/HITRUST compliance while shipping robust AI capabilities across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree at a minimum.
• 7-10+ years of experience in building and scaling production-grade ML/AI systems.
• Demonstrated experience as a generalist Software Engineer across backend, infrastructure, and data.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in production (MLOps, model serving, feature pipelines).
• Strong cloud experience (Google Cloud preferred; AWS/Azure also welcome).
• DevOps and reliability skills: CI/CD, containers and Kubernetes, observability.
• Solid data engineering: SQL, dbt, data warehousing.
• Security mindset with HIPAA/HITRUST familiarity a plus.
• Experience with LLM applications including retrieval, guardrails, and knowledge graphs.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to ship across stack.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across the platform build: data ingestion, transformation, canonical data model and entity resolution.
• Strengthen DevOps and reliability: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, environment management and observability.
• Partner with Security and IT: data classification, access control, secrets management and HIPAA/HITRUST aligned controls.
• Lay groundwork for AI/ML platform: model serving, inference gateway, feature/data pipelines and model lifecycle.
• Ensure HIPAA data remains within controlled boundaries and prevent data leakage with in-VPC/local inference.
• Collaborate with team leads to raise AI/ML fluency across platform, security, and DevOps teams.
• Handle additional responsibilities as needed.
