Job summary

Medallia is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to lead the migration of our AI platform to AWS GovCloud, ensuring secure, scalable AI capabilities for government and enterprise customers.

Based in the Tysons vicinity with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite), you will build cloud-native ML infrastructure, optimize models, and ensure FedRAMP-compliant data pipelines while collaborating with product and design teams.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required for GovCloud access.
• BA/BS in CS or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development in production environments using Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes in regulated environments.
• Experience with distributed systems: Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.
• Experience with relational SQL including Postgres.
• Experience with code quality practices and testing architectures on large codebases.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of AI/ML platform services to AWS GovCloud, ensuring compliance, security, and performance.
• Design and implement cloud-native ML infrastructure on AWS (SageMaker, ECS, EKS, Lambda).
• Monitor and optimize deployed models and ML pipelines in GovCloud.
• Build secure data pipelines across national boundaries, adhering to FedRAMP requirements.
• Collaborate with product and design to build AI features for Customer Experience.
• Architect scalable data-processing solutions for high-performance client delivery.
• Design and implement APIs to power front-end applications.
• Identify process improvements: automate tasks, optimize data delivery, improve infrastructure scale.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain availability of platforms.
