Job summary

The AI/ML Engineering and Science team powers core guidance, query understanding, orchestration, optimization, and generative search for Yahoo.

This role focuses on large-scale ML solutions, data strategies, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of track record driving significant impact with increasing levels of responsibility and strategic influence.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Expertise in AI, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and applying these technologies to solve strategic business problems.

Responsibilities

• Guide the design and implementation of large-scale ML-based solutions and systems across multiple teams.
• Define overarching technical requirements, including data strategies and evaluation frameworks.
• Drive cross-team technical discussions with product and design leads.
• Maintain awareness of AI trends (including LLMs and generative AI) and guide teams in adoption aligned with product vision.
• Drive data analysis to identify patterns and inform strategic development with product.
• Lead the team in Agentic AI development for best product and system outcomes.
