Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to drive end-to-end AI solutions for healthcare applications within a multidisciplinary environment. You will lead design, development, and deployment, bridging clinicians, designers, and engineers to deliver impactful AI tools that improve patient care and clinic operations.

You will mentor engineers, advance production pipelines, and ensure regulatory and quality standards are met while collaborating across Mayo’s campuses in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, health sciences, or related field with 4 years of experience, or a bachelor’s with 6 years of experience.
• Extensive experience applying AI/ML in production healthcare environments or similar regulated industries.
• Proven leadership in managing complex projects and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and standardization of AI-driven solutions integrated into clinical practice.
• Collaborate with clinicians, UX designers, product managers, and IT professionals to meet user needs and workflows.
• Own UX/frontend design for the product and drive production frontend with the engineering team.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the AI enablement team.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable AI software releases.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards in healthcare AI.
