Mayo Clinic is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to advance clinically integrated AI solutions. You will collaborate with clinicians, designers, product managers, and IT to deploy AI that improves patient care and operational efficiency.

You will lead end-to-end AI projects from ideation to production, leveraging deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and ML pipelines while ensuring regulatory and quality standards. This hybrid role requires strong communication and mentoring across teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, health science, or a related field with 4 years of experience.
• Extensive experience applying AI and machine learning in production healthcare environments or similar regulated industries.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing complex projects and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure environments and software development tools.
• Experience with large, heterogeneous healthcare data sets and AI/ML techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, and standardization of AI-driven solutions in clinical practice.
• Collaborate with clinicians, UX designers, product managers, and IT professionals to translate user needs into AI requirements.
• Leverage ML techniques (deep learning, NLP, CV, LLMs) for end-to-end healthcare AI solutions.
• Establish evaluation methods and metrics for AI effectiveness in real-world settings.
• Explain data analysis results to non-technical stakeholders to drive decisions.
• Oversee engineering of systems for AI solutions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Provide consultative services to clinical units and AI product teams.
• Train healthcare staff on AI tools; contribute to new AI methods.
