Job summary

Peraton is seeking a senior ML engineer in Maryland to design, develop, test, and operationalize learning algorithms addressing complex mission needs. The role emphasizes scalable production, data pipelines, and performance monitoring across environments.

Qualifications include 5+ years in applied ML, US citizenship, and ability to obtain TS/SCI with Poly. Advanced degrees in Mathematics/AI/Data Science/CS/Deep Learning are highly valued, with a Master’s or PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of applied machine learning experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain/maintain an active TS/SCI with Poly before start date is required.
• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in one of the listed fields or equivalent.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of ML experience may substitute for a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, tests, and operationalizes ML algorithms to solve complex business and mission requirements.
• Models learn from data to generate predictions aligned with customer-defined business logic.
• Maintain and improve models through data pipelines, performance metrics, and governance considerations.
• Lead geographically distributed teams and serve as primary technical contact as needed.
