Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Sr AI/ML Engineer to design, deploy, and support enterprise AI/ML solutions that improve clinical outcomes and patient engagement. The role spans from architecture to production, partnering with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable healthcare technology.

You will work remotely nationwide or office-based in MN/DC, with in-office requirements four days per week for the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development and/or AI/ML engineering experience.
• 5+ years of Python experience and proficiency with SQL and/or PySpark.
• 5+ years of experience developing cloud-based applications and deploying models in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• 5+ years of experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and software engineering best practices.
• 5+ years of experience working with data processing, distributed computing, and large-scale data systems.
• 2+ years of experience building and deploying ML models and AI-enabled applications in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and ML models to address healthcare challenges.
• Build, optimize, and maintain scalable AI/ML services, applications, and pipelines.
• Implement CI/CD practices and MLOps for reliable production deployments and lifecycle management.
• Create data pipelines and data engineering solutions using structured and unstructured healthcare data.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and software teams to translate requirements into scalable designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
