Job summary

Q2 is actively seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to help build the next generation of AI-powered banking solutions. You will design and deliver production-ready AI capabilities, create APIs and backend services, and help shape our AI platform across the stack.

You will work on evaluation frameworks, deployment pipelines, and agentic workflows, collaborating with product and platform teams to turn innovative ideas into enterprise-grade software. Strong Python and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software/ML/AI engineering experience with production ownership.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing, building, deploying and maintaining production systems.
• Strong Python; experience with other backend languages (C#, Java, TypeScript) is valuable.
• Experience building APIs, backend services, microservices, data integrations or distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, containers and production deployment; Kubernetes/Docker/MLOps experience.
• Experience building or operating ML/AI systems in production, including evaluation, monitoring, observability and deployment pipelines.
• Exposure to LLM applications, RAG, agentic workflows, model/tool integration or similar modern AI patterns.
• Ability to work across AI, backend, infrastructure, data and occasionally UI/application code.
• Strong ownership, curiosity and comfort operating in evolving environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver production-ready AI capabilities, services, and applications.
• Develop scalable APIs, microservices, data integrations, and backend systems for AI-powered products.
• Build and improve the infrastructure around AI systems, including evaluation frameworks, deployment pipelines, monitoring and testing.
• Prototype and evaluate emerging AI technologies, including LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Work across cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and application layers to integrate AI into Q2’s technology ecosystem.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data and platform teams to define solutions and move ideas to production.
