Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Puerto Rico (Aguadilla area) seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineer to lead initiatives across Hybrid Cloud portfolios and production ML deployments. You will design, implement, and scale AI/ML solutions for structured and unstructured data, leveraging modern frameworks and large-scale compute environments.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior members, and drive design reviews while aligning with business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, ML/AI or related quantitative field.
• Typically, 4–7 years’ experience in AI/ML engineering or related roles.
• Strong understanding of ML algorithms including linear methods, trees, SVMs, deep learning and reinforcement learning.
• Proficiency in Python, R or Java; production-quality code; version-control (Git); familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras.
• Knowledge of Linux/Open Source, DevOps, SRE; cloud infra (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
• Experience leading teams or mentoring juniors; excellent communication with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Research and stay current with AI/ML advancements, exploring new techniques and applying them to problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable AI/ML solutions aligned with business needs.
• Develop, deploy, and monitor ML models in production with attention to scalability and security.
• Tune models, optimize algorithms, and improve system performance based on data-driven insights.
• Lead design reviews; mentor junior team members; set standards with engineering managers.
• Deliver strategic presentations and reports to senior stakeholders, translating technical work into business impact.
• Apply data mining, data modeling, NLP, and ML to extract actionable insights from datasets.
