Job summary

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to join a fast-paced team that builds discriminative and generative AI/ML models for DoD analytic missions. You will collaborate with SMEs and product owners to align objectives and create optimized models, while enabling secure data access and metadata exchange across web apps.

The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, a deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms, and the capacity to learn new technologies in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or similar.
• 7+ years of AI/ML engineering experience.
• Ability to analyze problems with a flexible and creative approach, manage complex tasks and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
• Familiarity with AI/ML based systems and understanding model values and data driven analysis.
• Knowledge/familiarity with AI/ML algorithms including Linear Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural networks, and Dijkstra's.
• Ability to learn new technologies rapidly and implement in a dynamic environment.
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a team to develop discriminative and generative AI/ML models to support the analytic mission.
• Work closely with the product owner across functional team of SMEs and product owners to align with team objectives while creating optimized AI/ML models.
• Create AI/ML model utilization, availability, access and data utilization, availability, and access for AI/ML models.
• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML models using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Develop user interfaces to enable the exchange of information directly related to AI/ML across web applications.
• Develop interfaces to enable the exchange of metadata related to AI/ML models and providers via web applications.
• Provide enablement support for AI/ML Services to the team.
• Develop an automated process for the workforce team to gain access to LLM models.
• Work successfully and collaborate effectively within a highly technical agile team environment and contribute to team workflows, tools, and documentation.
