Job summary

NextGen Federal Systems seeks an experienced AI/ML Engineer to advance models for the DoD, collaborating with SMEs and product owners to deliver impactful AI/ML solutions. You will design, implement, and optimize discriminative and generative models, and build interfaces for AI/ML data exchange across web applications.

The role requires deep problem-solving, rapid learning of technologies, and strong communication as part of an agile engineering team focused on measurable mission outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or similar.
• 7+ years of AI/ML engineering experience.
• Ability to analyze problems with a flexible and creative approach, manage complex tasks and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
• Familiarity with AI/ML based systems and understanding model values and data driven analysis.
• Knowledge/familiarity with AI/ML algorithms including Linear Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural networks, and Dijkstra's.
• Ability to learn new technologies rapidly and implement in a dynamic environment.
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a team to develop discriminative and generative AI/ML models to support the analytic mission.
• Collaborate with the product owner and SMEs to align with team objectives while creating optimized AI/ML models.
• Develop AI/ML model utilization, availability, access and data utilization, availability, and access for AI/ML models.
• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML models using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Develop user interfaces to enable the exchange of information directly related to AI/ML across web applications.
• Develop interfaces to enable the exchange of metadata related to AI/ML models and providers via web applications.
• Provide enablement support for AI/ML Services to the team.
• Develop an automated process for the workforce team to gain access LLM models.
• Work successfully and collaborate effectively within a highly technical agile team environment and contribute to team workflows, tools, and documentation
