Job summary

Finch AI in Herndon, VA seeks a Senior AI/ML Engineering Architect — TS/SCI w/ Polygraph, in a Hybrid role. You will design and deploy LLM/SLM systems across cleared environments, guiding end-to-end development from concept to production.

You will lead model evaluation, fine-tuning, and building AI-enabled capabilities; collaborate with product teams in an Agile setting; require strong NLP, Python, and ML framework expertise.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM/SLM apps: agentic AI, RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning.
• Production NLP systems covering data collection, training, tuning, and evaluation.
• Strong background in NLP and statistical modeling; Bayesian methods helpful.
• Experience with modern ML frameworks and scalable ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation, fine-tuning, and deployment of LLMs/SLMs in production.
• Develop AI-enabled apps using agentic AI and RAG techniques.
• Design and evaluate NLP models for extraction, classification, and disambiguation.
• Translate proof-of-concept designs into shipped features in products.
• Collaborate with customer teams to deliver AI solutions in cleared environments.
• Work with product teams in an Agile setting, communicating clearly across audiences.
