Job summary

SpaceX in Palo Alto is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer for AI infrastructure (Starshield) to own and evolve the data center network supporting national security missions.

You will lead design, deployment, monitoring, and security improvements, collaborating with ML teams and other engineers. Requires Top Secret eligibility and ability to work extended hours or travel domestically and globally as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years deploying enterprise network solutions or cloud/web-scale networks.
• Experience with Layer-1 transport, DWDM, and optical fiber.
• Hands-on deployment of networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance or eligibility.
• Strong collaboration with ML teams and software engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and deployment of Starshield data center networks.
• Develop high-speed connectivity for AI clusters (100k+ GPUs).
• Improve network performance, security, and reliability.
• Create deployment tools and automation for network devices.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide the team to technical excellence.
