Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for AI Transformation on the IT Operations team (ESTO). You will own reliability and automation of AI infrastructure, enabling scalable, observable, and secure systems.

The role centers on building production-grade distributed AI platforms and delivering end-to-end AI products using Go or Python. You will collaborate with Platform and product groups to align requirements, design reusable infra components, and mentor engineers to raise engineering

Qualifications

5+ years of experience automating and supporting cloud infrastructure (AWS) with hands-on use of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.
Proven experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go) and version control workflows using Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
Platform-builder mindset with history of designing reusable infrastructure, APIs, and abstractions used across teams.
Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery of AI products by building production-grade distributed systems across the full stack.
Design APIs and tooling to enable product teams to integrate AI capabilities without bespoke infra requests.
Align infrastructure requirements with Platform and other product groups and define shared platform contracts.
Establish architectural patterns, mentor engineers, and raise the bar on code quality and observability.
Build full-stack applications powering internal AI products and infrastructure using Go or Python.
