Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Transformation to join the IT Operations team within ESTO. You will own reliability and automation of AI infrastructure, ensuring scalable, observable systems with exposure to senior leadership.

Work involves full-stack development in Go or Python and building production-grade AI platforms. You will drive platform adoption, mentor engineers, and shape engineering standards while collaborating across Platform and product groups.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience automating and supporting cloud infrastructure (AWS) and network environments.
• Hands-on use of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Salt.
• Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Platform-builder mindset with reusable infrastructure and APIs adopted across teams.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI products by building production‑grade distributed systems and deployment orchestration.
• Drive platform adoption by designing clean APIs, abstractions, and developer tooling.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership to align infrastructure requirements and define platform contracts.
• Shape engineering standards and culture by establishing patterns, mentoring engineers, and improving observability.
• Build full-stack applications powering internal AI products and infrastructure using Go or Python.
