Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for Core AI Infrastructure in ESTO. You will join a high-performing team building production-grade AI infrastructure and services that power Coinbase's AI products, focusing on reliability, observability, and secure scale.

You will own end-to-end delivery, design APIs, and mentor engineers while collaborating with senior leadership in a fast-paced incubator-style environment. Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Go or Python is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years automating and supporting cloud infra (AWS), with IaC tooling.
• Production-grade containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go; Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Platform-builder mindset with reusable infrastructure and APIs.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI products through production-grade distributed systems.
• Design APIs and tooling to enable product teams to use AI without bespoke infra.
• Coordinate with Platform and other groups to align infra requirements.
• Establish architectural patterns and mentor engineers to raise code quality.
• Build full-stack apps powering internal AI products and infra using Go or Python.
