Job summary

Cornerstone Research's Data Science Center is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, harden, and scale infrastructure that powers AI applications across the firm.

This hands‑on role collaborates with platform engineers and developers who build on it, owning the platform layer—inferring gateways, containerized environments, and observability—while improving reliability and security for confidential data.

Qualifications

• BA/BS with 4+ years of software or DevOps experience, or higher degree with 2+ years.
• Strong system-design fundamentals and reliability focus.
• Ability to work across tech stacks and learn new languages quickly.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding and AI agent tooling.
• Experience with container isolation concepts and security.
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate shared infrastructure used by AI apps.
• Own and instrument metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
• Improve resilience, security, and operational maturity.
• Provide tooling and deployment paths for developers on the platform.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, PMs, and Security/IT.
