ByteDance's Technology team in Seattle is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable compute infrastructure for AI workloads. You will own large-scale cloud infrastructure to support the company’s compute and ML training/deployment pipelines, and you’ll contribute to high-performance, distributed systems used across global teams.

Responsibilities

Build large-scale and highly available cloud infrastructure to support the company’s compute infrastructure platform.
Design, build, and maintain compute systems to streamline the training and deployment of large-scale machine learning models.
Develop and build high-performance, distributed infrastructure to support artificial intelligence (AI) workflows.
Take ownership of the technical stack, transitioning experimental machine learning models into production services while ensuring system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance in multi-agent environments.
Take ownership of the observability of the company’s AI platforms, including monitoring health, identifying performance bottlenecks, and making recommendations to drive platform reliability.
Write research papers and file technical patents capturing work in cloud infrastructure, AIOps, and distributed computing.
