Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a researcher for ByteBrain, our AI for Infrastructure platform, to advance AI-driven optimization for large-scale datacenters and infrastructure systems in Seattle. The role combines operations research, AI/ML, and software engineering to push the state of the art in production environments.

You will work on designing algorithms, deploying them at scale, and publishing results in top conferences, while collaborating with cross-functional teams across ByteDance's global

Qualifications

• Proven track record with multiple publications in AI, ML, OR or related fields.
• Deep expertise in AI, machine learning, and/or operations research with data analysis and algorithm development experience.
• Strong coding, implementation, and problem-solving skills with ability to bridge research and production systems.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI, machine learning, and optimization algorithms to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance of large-scale infrastructure systems.
• Drive deployment, scaling, and continuous improvement of algorithms in production environments.
• Identify optimization opportunities from real-world infrastructure scenarios and translate into research/engineering solutions.
• Conduct cutting-edge research and publish high-quality papers in top-tier venues.
